The OPTM LS model is designed for faster players seeking maximum speed and control in a compact, low spin clubhead. Using advanced expertise and understanding of club inertia, Cobra engineers have maximized MOI and a lesser known but critical stability measurement called POI to deliver our most forgiving and accurate LS model ever. Players will enjoy all the control and low spin performance they need with even more stability for tighter dispersion. The OPTM LS driver features an advanced descending weight system with 3 adjustable weights (11g, 7g, 3g) that can each be moved in the back (neutral flight), heel (draw-biased flight) or toe (fadebiased flight) positions to tune trajectory control.
Cobra's new driver family, OPTM, is available in 6 different heads to suit all types of golfers. LS for those who swing fast and need low spin to maximise their distance. X for those who want a driver that is both fast and forgiving, and who want to be able to adjust how much the ball spins. MAX-K for those who have an inconsistent ball strike and wants a maximum forgiving 13K driver. MAX-D for those who want to straighten out a slice to hit straighter and longer. In addition, there are also Women's MAX-D and MAX-K.
Unlike MOI (moment of inertia), which measures how resistant a clubhead is to twisting on off-center hits along the vertical and hori-zontal axes, POI measures how a clubhead rotates diagonally across all axes at once. For that reason, a high MOI is desired to correct off-center hits, while a low POI is desired to deliver more accurate shots that create less gear effect. The result is tighter downrange dispersion.
Each OPTM driver model features an external and internal weighting system that optimizes launch, speed, and forgiveness for the intended player. The LS and X models feature strategically positioned external and internal weights to optimize POI for accuracy, while the MAX-K and MAX-D models optimize MOI for maximum forgiveness.
FutureFit33™ features 33 unique loft & lie settings to optimize your ball flight, minimize your miss, and maximize your distance. Loft & lie can be adjusted by +/- 2 degrees in any direction, allowing for the ultimate fine-tuned fitting customization, while the innovative SMARTPAD® design enables the face angle to remain square regardless of the setting.
